Biography

Elsy Hajjar (Beirut, 1990) is a Lebanese Cinematographer shooting in the commercial and narrative space. She started studying cinema in 2009 and attended several workshops in Lebanon, Germany, Spain and Egypt. Hajjar is working as a Beirut-based freelance cinematographer, and often travels to various destinations for work. Cinematography and filmmaking are an intense passion that drives every day of her life.

Filmography

Hajjar's first short film “I Call it Love" (2013) won her several cinematography awards and prizes. “The Rifle, The jackal, The Wolf and The Boy” a short film shot by Elsy Hajjar, was shortlisted for the Live-action shorts section at the Oscars (2016) "Aziza" a film shot by Elsy and directed by Syrian filmmaker Saudade Kaadan won Best Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival (2019)
