Biography
Farah Shaer is a Lebanese director, actress, and socio-political activist. Her debut short film “I Offered You Pleasure” had a very successful world tour and was officially selected at major international film festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand and Busan International Film Festival, however, it was banned in Lebanon from public screening by the Lebanese General Security. Farah is also one of the co-founders of the “You-Stink” anti-corruption movement that has been leading the civil society protests in Lebanon since 2015 until today. In 2016, she was awarded a scholarship funded by Hani Farsi Foundation to pursue a MFA in Film directing at UCLA as part of a full ride fellowship program to give voice to the unique perspective of Arab women through film.
